Viniculture
The Vineyards
Our wine grows on the southern slope of Mannhartsberg. Because of this special location we are able to harvest from vines in the viticultural area of Weinviertel (vineyard Wieden and vineyard Zugschwert) but also in the viticultural area of Kamptal (vineyard Obritzberg and vineyard Kirchholz).
Therefore our different vines have the chance to grow on the vineyard which is most suitable for their demands, where the soil offers optimal conditions for their growth and the quality of their yield.
For example our Riesling battens on primary rock, while our Roter Veltliner grows on loess-silt-soil, or our Müller-Thurgau on loess-sand soil.
As a wine-grower we spend all four seasons in the vineyard, starting with cutting the vines in winter, merging the young shoots in spring, thinning the grapes in summer until finishing with manually gathering, which usually starts in late summer and last still late autum.
